Held annually from May 3 to 5 at the historic Former Shinkawa Residence, this festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Sano Machiba with a variety of traditional Japanese performances.

📌 Experience authentic Japanese arts
Enjoy mesmerizing performances including choral singing, shakuhachi (bamboo flute), shamisen, and traditional Japanese dance, set in the atmospheric streets of Sano Machiba.

🎭 Sano Nigiwai-tei Rakugo Performance (May 5th) On the final day, professional rakugo storytellers will take the stage at “Sano Nigiwai-tei,” offering an entertaining and lighthearted performance filled with laughter.

🚶 Guided Walking Tours of Sano Machiba
Join a guided tour of the historical streets of Sano Machiba and immerse yourself in its Edo-period charm. The festival offers a rare chance to experience Japan’s living history up close.
