The “Towel Brush (Towel-fude) Etegami Exhibition” is on display in the 2nd-floor corridor gallery of Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport, directly connected to Kansai International Airport, through November 29, 2026.

Originating in Senshu, the birthplace of Japanese towels, the Towel Brush (Towel-fude) is known for its beautiful feathering and delicate ink diffusion.

The exhibition showcases 42 works, including award-winning pieces from the 16th National Towel Brush Etegami Contest, new works by creator Yasuhiko Miyawaki, and artworks by members of the Izumisano City Cultural Association Fine Arts Federation.

Whether you’re arriving, departing, or waiting for your flight, take a moment to discover a unique artistic tradition from Izumisano and enjoy its warmth and charm.

🖌️About Yasuhiko Miyawaki, Creator of the Towel Brush (Towel-fude)
Using recycled Senshu Towels, local artist Yasuhiko Miyawaki created the Towel Brush (Towel-fude), a unique art tool born in Izumisano. His contributions to the city’s cultural heritage were recognized in 2025 when he was named an Izumisano City Human Cultural Treasure.
