Nakami Shrine Hydrangea Light-Up “Nakami Hana Akari”: June 6–7, 2026

From late May through late June, hydrangeas reach their peak bloom season at Nakami Shrine ✿
More than 200 hydrangea plants, lovingly cultivated by lovingly cultivated by Chief Priest Kitaoka, beautifully decorate the shrine grounds.
Enjoy a wide variety of colors and shapes, from garden-planted blooms to carefully arranged potted hydrangeas.

On June 6 (Sat) and 7 (Sun), Nakami Shrine will host the special hydrangea light-up event “Nakami Hana Akari” ✨
Colorful hydrangeas will illuminate the shrine grounds, while delicate glass wind chimes hanging beneath the wisteria trellis gently chime in the evening breeze 🎐
Enjoy a magical evening of flowers, lights, and wind chimes at Nakami Shrine.

In addition, special events will be held on June 7 (Sun), including food trucks, workshops, and live jazz performances!
🍴 A variety of food trucks will gather, offering local food and snacks.
🖌️ Join a handmade lantern workshop led by Yasuhiko Miyawaki, featuring traditional Japanese illustrated paper lanterns (illustrated paper lanterns), and create your own unique light.
🎶 A special live jazz piano performance will also take place.
