🥒 Cucumber Blessing Ritual for Health and Well-Being: July 25–26, 2026
A summer tradition held at 七宝瀧寺, a historic mountain temple in 犬鳴山 associated with Kobo Daishi Kukai.
Visitors offer a cucumber as a symbolic way to transfer illness and misfortune while praying for good health and safety during the summer season. The ritual is believed to have a history of more than 1,200 years.
