Ōgi HOTAL Lamp Village FES
Experience a magical early summer night in the Ōgi area of Izumisano City, known for its terraced rice fields and registered as part of the Japan Heritage Site “The Medieval Landscape of Hineno-shō”.
This rare firefly viewing event takes place in a traditional rural landscape that has been carefully preserved for over 800 years, offering visitors a glimpse into Japan’s seasonal beauty and deep respect for nature.
✨ The theme of the evening is Five Lights, transforming the entire village into an “Illumination Museum”:
– Fireflies dancing over the terraced rice fields
– Stained glass lanterns adorning the eaves
– Bamboo lanterns made from once-neglected bamboo groves
– Handcrafted lamps created by local students
– The word “HOTAL” (meaning “firefly” in Japanese) glowing gently in candlelight

🚌 Access:
Take the Nankai Wing Bus from Izumisano Station (Nankai Main Line) or Hineno Station (JR Hanwa Line), and get off at the “Naka-Ōgi” bus stop. The main reception is about a 10-minute walk from there.
Alternatively, taxis are available.
