The Ogami Shrine Dedication Iaido Performance is a sacred event that showcases the traditional Japanese martial art of Iaido. Held at Ogami Shrine (意賀美神社, Ogami Jinja)—a historic site designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan—this event serves as a dedication of the practitioners’ training efforts. Spectators can witness the refined techniques of Koryu Iaido, demonstrated by students ranging from beginners to master instructors of Shinkendo Kidokan. The program includes solo demonstrations (Iaido kata), paired sword forms (kumitachi), and test cutting (tameshigiri) using rolled tatami mats, offering a thrilling and authentic display of traditional martial arts.
