Relive the Expo Experience: A Pavilion by Naomi Kawase Comes to Izumisano
The pavilion “Dialogue Theater – Inochi no Akashi”, produced by filmmaker Naomi Kawase, which drew significant attention at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, will be relocated to Izumisano City.
This unique facility consists of three buildings created by repurposing former school structures from Fukuchiyama City (Kyoto Prefecture) and Totsukawa Village (Nara Prefecture). Designed as an interactive theater centered on the theme of “dialogue,” it became widely known for an experience in which strangers engage in conversations through a screen, offering a moment to reflect on human connection and the meaning of life.
The new location is planned for Izumisano Hillside Green Space, with development underway toward an opening in fiscal year 2028. It is expected to be developed as a permanent cultural venue where visitors can experience the essence of life, engage with art, and take part in meaningful dialogue and exchange with others.
Located close to Kansai International Airport, Izumisano City is gaining attention as a destination where visitors can easily stop by during their journey or just before departing Japan, enjoying a meaningful cultural experience.
