A Tragic Love Story from Izumisano Becomes a New Song!
Fuyumi Sakamoto, a singer from Kansai, will release “Sasayuri Monogatari,” inspired by the legend of Shizu no Namidamizu in Izumisano.
In the Heian period (794–1185), an aristocratic woman named Shizu fell in love with the monk Koshō, who had retreated to a life of solitude on Mount Inunaki. Desperate to see him again, she wandered through the mist-covered mountain but never found him. Heartbroken, she passed away, and her tears became a sacred spring—known as “Shizu no Namidamizu.”
