A New Traditional Japanese Sweets Café Opens Near Kansai Airport! 🍡 ：May 11, 2025
A brand-new café named Sanomachi-an has opened near Nankai Izumisano Station, offering visitors—especially those from overseas—a place to experience authentic Japanese sweets culture!
Located just next to the Sanomachi Library, a satellite branch of the Izumisano City Library, this cozy café sits near Tsubasa Street, a nostalgic shopping arcade known for its retro charm and colorful wall murals painted by local citizens.
Inside, you’ll find both table seating and two traditional tatami rooms. The fusuma (sliding doors) are decorated with images of the Kitamaebune cargo ships, reflecting the area’s history as a former merchant town recognized in the Japan Heritage registry. A small tsuboniwa (courtyard garden) adds to the peaceful, traditional atmosphere.
