The Summer Siege of Osaka! – The Decisive Battle of Kashii ：May 3, 2025
Feel the Wind of Warring States – Welcome to a day of history and excitement!
Step into the world of history at this special event where you can experience the “Battle of Kashii,” the famous prelude to the Osaka Summer Battle, at an actual historical site!
The day will include sports chanbara, a warrior parade, and a dramatic reenactment with a storyteller.
Visitors can also enjoy exciting stage performances such as Yosakoi dancing and powerful Japanese drums.
From mid-April to mid-May, approximately 70 colorful carp streamers will be dancing on the Kashii River!

① Matchlock gun performance by the Saika Teppo Troupe from Kishu
② Sports Chanbara Battle (2 sessions)
③ Historical Walking Tour of the Kashii Battlefield
④ Join the Samurai Procession – Dress up and become a warrior of the past!
⑤ “Battle Storytelling” by Kyokudou Nanshu, a master kōdanshi (traditional storyteller)
⑥ Live performances of kagura, yosakoi dance, wadaiko (Japanese drums), and light music

🐟 Kashii River Koinobori Display
📅 Period: Mid-April to Mid-May (scheduled)
Around 70 colorful koinobori (carp streamers), including donated ones, will soar proudly in the sky above the Kashii River—a breathtaking spring sight you won’t want to miss!
