Nakami Fujinomiya Wisteria Festival at Nakami Shrine: April 15– April 29, 2026
The Nakami Fujinomiya Wisteria Festival held at Nakami Shrine in Izumisano is a beloved spring tradition where visitors can admire wisteria flowers carefully cultivated over two decades by the shrine’s chief priest.
The grounds are adorned with breathtaking displays, including long cascading Kyushaku Fuji (long wisteria trellises), flowing clusters of Noda Fuji, and a striking torii framed by white wisteria. These elegant floral scenes create a calm and refined atmosphere where visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery.
On select weekends, the shrine is beautifully illuminated at night, transforming the tranquil space into a calm and atmospheric setting setting. Visitors can also receive a special Goshuin (traditional shrine stamp) or a local sweet called Mizunasu Fuku Ame, offering a chance to experience both seasonal beauty and Japanese culture.
