Kashita Hachiman New Year’s 100 Archery Shots Event

The Kanashita Shrine in Izumisano City, where the main shrine, the hall of worship, the hall of offerings and the hall of offerings were registered as a tangible cultural property of Japan in 2024. Every year on 3 January, the Kinoshita Hachiman Hyakusho is held.

Kinoshita Shrine is the southernmost archery dojo dedicated to the god of archery in Osaka Prefecture.

At this event, archery enthusiasts from the surrounding area gather to compete in ‘kintate’, the art of shooting at a stationary target. Visitors can experience the power of Kyudo up close and personal, while also paying their first visit to the shrine.

📅 Season：Every year on January 3rd (Opening ceremony: Kashita Shrine prayer at 8:45 AM, Competition begins at 9:15 AM)

💰 Participation fee：Free for spectators

📍 Venue：Kashita Shrine, 1834-2 Tsuruhara, Izumisano City

🚗 Parking：Free parking available
