The Futon Daiko festival at Sano Kasuga Shrine is a traditional event featuring massive futon-shaped drum floats. Originally held as a prayer for prosperous fishing, it is now also celebrated to ward off misfortune.
Taking place in May, the festival showcases 1-ton drum floats parading through the streets, with the highlight being the dynamic procession at the grand torii gate.
