Izumisano Folk Performing Arts Festival & Local Food Fair: August 1, 2026

One of Izumisano’s signature summer events returns to the Rinku area near Kansai International Airport. The 49th Izumisano Folk Performing Arts Festival and the National Local Products Fair bring together traditional culture, local food, and community celebrations in a lively outdoor setting.

Enjoy powerful taiko drum performances, Yosakoi dance, and traditional folk arts that have been passed down through generations in Izumisano, including Sano Kudoki, Gosha Ondo, and Kashii Sanya Odori. Visitors are also welcome to join the Bon dance circle and experience a local Japanese summer festival firsthand.

A special performance of Akune Hanya Bushi from Akune adds a unique cultural exchange element to the event.

At the National Local Products Fair, municipalities partnered with Izumisano showcase regional specialties, local delicacies, and souvenirs from across Japan. With activities continuing into the evening, it is an enjoyable stop during a stay near the airport, before departure, or after arriving in Osaka.

🎵 Gosha Ondo is a traditional Bon dance song preserved by local communities in Izumisano.
🏮 Sano Kudoki is a traditional folk dance performed during local summer festivals.
