The Futon Daiko festival, passed down through generations in the fishing town of Izumisano, is a traditional event held to pray for maritime safety and a bountiful catch. Large, vibrant taikodai (festival floats with decorative futon-style cushions) are paraded through the streets from the seaside area near Izumisano Station to the Tsubasa-dori Shopping Street, filling the entire town with festive energy.
